Let Your Pet Stay With Us! Today more than ever people are busy. We invite you to leave your pet with us for the day so that we can provide care for him/her while you are at work or doing other things. We take special steps in order to communicate with you before, during, and after your pet has been admitted into the hospital.
Often our clients take advantage of the ability to leave their pet with us in the morning and pick them up in the afternoon or evening after work. We understand your life is busy but you still want to provide the best care you can for your pet.
Late pick up is available until 7pm Monday through Friday. We will make every effort to help you fit your pet’s health care needs into your schedule as painlessly as possible.

Surgery and Anesthetic Procedures
Safe and predictable anesthetic experiences are a priority at Laurelhurst. We optimize the chances for successful anesthetic procedures by providing the most current technology in anesthesia and monitoring equipment. All anesthetized patients are carefully monitored and evaluated by our highly trained staff. In addition, we have the latest in anesthetic monitoring equipment, including electrocardiogram, apnea monitor, and oxygen saturation monitors.
A strong emphasis is placed on adequate and appropriate pain management in our patients before, during and after surgical procedures. We routinely use local anesthetics and narcotic agents for the postoperative relief of pain. We firmly believe that a comfortable and pain free pre-operative period enhances and optimizes the recovery from both surgery and anesthesia.
Dentistry
Clean teeth and health gums are as important to your pet’s health as they are to your own. Since we can’t get our patient to lie back in a chair and say “Ahhh”, all dental patients are provided with the same high quality anesthetic protocol and monitoring equipment as is used for all other surgical procedures. Once a thorough oral exam and cleaning has been done, we polish the surface areas of the teeth and treat them with fluoride.

Radiology
Radiology is an invaluable diagnostic tool. Our staff doctors and a Board Certified Radiologist interpret every radiograph. Our hospital is equipped with an automatic processor which develops, fixes and dries radiographs in a minute. Another feature is radiology is our Dental X-ray unit. This unit allows us to take x-rays of suspect teeth, look for hidden problems with tooth roots, and find those teeth that need to be extracted.
Laboratory
We have the ability to run lab tests for routine screening purposes, or if your pet is ill and we need results NOW, we are able to get quick, accurate lab results on our in-house laboratory equipment. We use the same modern technology found in human hospitals and labs. We also utilize the services of an outside laboratory that picks up lab samples several times daily and faxes the results within hours.
Hospitalization and Nursing Care
While your pet is here at Laurelhurst, our Certified Veterinary Technicians will be providing top quality nursing care. We provide constant monitoring, intravenous fluids, modern medications and most important of all, a caring staff.
For pets that come to us with an unknown vaccine status and unknown health history, or pets that have potential infectious or contagious diseases, we have a separate isolation ward available. These pets receive the same high quality nursing care. By having this separate area in the hospital we ensure the health and safety of all our patients.
